Rain And Tears

My darling little dog died today.  We all know the crushing sadness so I don't have to explain.  We buried her in the orchard.  I was keeping the rain off with an old coat that I used to wear in the evenings, snuggling with her in front of the TV, so I wrapped her in it and zipped it up around her.  It makes me feel better to think of her enfolded in the arms of my familiar coat.

There are many other dogs who need to be shown loving kindness, possibly for the first time in their lives.  Soon I will open my home to them.  But today I grieve.

I got a photo of this marvelous young horse on a cloudy day, which for my purposes turned out better than if he'd been in full sun.  This is one of a new greeting card series I'm designing.
