New Year's Resolutions aside, usually the change of seasons isn't life-changing. I know I, at least, spend a lot of time drifting through my days. Whole great chunks of a lifetime can go by without notice or regret, until something reminds me that our time here on earth is finite. Our homes can be finite too. Sometimes we upgrade. Sometimes we downsize. Sometimes we grow up and leave home. And, sadly, sometimes our home leaves us.
The family and their pets are safe. In the midst of shock and dismay there is also grace.
