His Appointed Rounds
Just messing with color on this adorable little black bear cub, who was intent on following Mom and not fazed at all by cars.
Which is as it should be; it's our responsibility not to flatten him. After all, if bears packed their coolers with snow-melt water and ant snacks and came to vacation in my living room, I'd expect considerate behavior from them.

A History of Hard Labor
One of the historic first homes in the fertile but snowy Jackson Hole. (The nearby town is Jackson; the valley itself is called Jackson Hole. Early Mormon settlers couldn't know that this beautiful but harsh environment would someday become the most expensive place to live in the U.S.)
